The 225 grain Interlock was designed for taking light game such as the Impala. A sound offering for the African hunter limited to one rifle (a .375 H&H Magnum), the 225 grain could be used on light plains game,a heavier 300 grain bullet on heavy game. In the modern .375 RUM,the 225 grain Interlock SP is a different animal. At velocities of 3125 to 3250fps, results are extremely violent. The buck goat below was taken at a range of 75 yards, impact velocity was 2900fps. The goat was quartering away. What you can see is called blow black, the mass acceleration of water particles having nowhere else to go, creating a massive wound channel. The bullet was recovered from the offside shoulder, still intact, weighing about 100 grains.
The same bullet, same impact velocity, ordinary cross body shot.
