A happy reader based in the UK bagged this nice Roe deer using his 6.5x47 rifle, shooting Sierra 130gn TMK bullets.
The deer was standing facing slightly away and slightly uphill at a range of 363 yards. At an approximate impact velocity of 2240fps the deer dropped on the spot.
The deer dropped at the impact and did not move. There was blood, rib and lung on the ground and foliage behind the deer and the bullet was not recovered.
The exiting bullet created a thumb sized wound on the off side of the deer.
Entry wound with the shoulder removed, damage through the rib cage can be clearly seen.
Exit wound, offside with shoulder removed.
Damage to shoulders.
This is very good performance. Please note that more information on the TMK can be found in the book, The Practical Guide To Long Range Hunting Cartridges - Second Edition.
