MartyRe: Help Bedding a Ruger M77 Mark IIGreat first go for shore Dan!As Nathan has already said your attention to detail has showed in your finish, a few changes to your technique and you will be very happy with your finish, well done. Use a few of Nathans tweaks and you should find those groups will be sorted. Hope it shoots well for your hunt, good luck! |

Alvaro Piqueras Alonso-LambertiRe: Help Bedding a Ruger M77 Mark IIHi Dan;Congrats for the nice job and nice buck! Some time ago, I was thinking about doing the same path... but don´t think it will worth... Mine is a M77 Mark II, but the one with mannlicher style stock (wood to the muzzle) and just 18,5" barrel for a 30-06. I think the stock style and the muzzle band will make this rifle harmonics very complex... Aniway, I usually use it at close renges, most with running targets, so extreme accuracy is not necessary. Have you worked the trigger? This is very bad in my opinion. Not much creep, but very high pull weight. I will order a wolf sear spring and work the trigger to get it down. I´m now loading sierra 165 GK HPBT to 2650fps (remember just 18,5" barrel). I´m wondering what will be better to use with that barrel... heavy or light bullets? I´m using relative fast burning powder (same as the one used for the 308 win). Last thing... barrel fouls quite heavy!! Seem to be a lot of problems? But i love that rifle, it was my first centerfire, a gift from my parents! Cheers |
