Re: BSA CF2 in 30-06, Rebarrel to 35 Whelen ?
Still waiting patiently for parts. Barrel should be here Monday or Tuesday. Reamer should follow closely. Bolt and bolt parts are in transit, same with the case hardener. Picked up my dies yesterday and resized some old cases as an experiment. I'm killing time polishing bottom metal.

Re: BSA CF2 in 30-06, Rebarrel to 35 Whelen ?
I rang the Hornady importer today to see if they had any 35 Whelen in stock. They did.....yes!
Apparently Hornady Superformance 200gn 35 Whelen Ammunition is being discontinued. Just ordered some so I have 35 Whelen boxes and marked cases for reloading.

Sent scope rings and 20MOA base to True Flight. I think it's a bit too much scope for the Whelen lol. We'll find out soon enough

Re: BSA CF2 in 30-06, Rebarrel to 35 Whelen ?
Thanks Paul. We've got supplies available here at the moment. Just pay the price and they're yours
Worse case scenario I'll fill some trimmed 223 cases with iron sand and lead. Size them and load. We have guys making cast lead bullets. Freight is the issue for us staying at the end of civilization. And the exchange rate @ $1.48 NZD = $1USD it soon adds up?

Re: BSA CF2 in 30-06, Rebarrel to 35 Whelen ?
Very Nice rifle you have there Warwick. It will be interesting to see the results of your bedding this along with group sizes as well as velocities.
My oldest son had his entire barrelled action which was stainless steel, Ceracoated a moss green colour to to match his B&C stock. It looks darned nice and if I end up doing a build with a Remington 783 with a Prefit replacement barrel in 358 Winchester I plan to have the same done to it.
He did not have his bolt done however.

Re: BSA CF2 in 30-06, Rebarrel to 35 Whelen ?
Sorry everyone. I'm moving house/workshop and the 35 Whelen is in the safe waiting for me to relocate. I'm moving to the country and have been busy clearing out the shed and section. Martin the weights good and it feels awesome in hand. I have a 1-4×24 NSX NIGHTFORCE IR scope I will use on it as well. I'm not sure if the 20moa canted base will be any good as i have to raise my cheek slightly to get a clear view through the scope so I am thinking about getting a standard base. I can't wait to get it bedded and shoot some groups. I have enough room at new place for a 100 yard range ;D with the shooting bench just outside the workshop door. How cool is that?

I couldn't resist the temptation any longer. so without the scope on I fired two rounds into a heap of dirt. It's fucking Awesome loud like thunder and a nice rolling push for recoil with 200gn Superformance @ 2900fps. I can't stop smiling.

Thanks Bob. Its got the Ackley Improved chamber to reduce case lengthening. I'm really pleased with the preliminary results. Load development is going to be a great task.

Re: BSA CF2 in 30-06, Rebarrel to 35 Whelen ?
Hi Warwick
What pit falls did you come up against in beding this CF2.
Mine is still at the Smith.....Hes really good but slow.
Might get it before Xmas if I'm lucky. I purchased mine on 6.7.15 so earning my patience.
But while I wait I was doing some reading as you do and thought hey, I've a BLR why not re-barrel to .358 awesome for them French boar.
We will see, got to get past he good lady first.
Hey Nathan thanks again for doing the books. Saving me from posting stupid questions but causing blisters to fingers a s I need to keep rereading sections.
All I was looking for this time was nexk size Lub......
Thanks Bob!
