Austin MillerI'm "putting together" a rifle and have a bedding question. Its a brand new Zastava M-98 Mauser with a high gloss bluing and I plan to soon get it re-blued in a matte finish. Anyway, should I bed the stock before or after the reblue? Or does it matter? Thanks! |

Nathan FosterRe: Glass Bedding QuestionHi Austin, in this instance, you will be able to get away with bedding now if you wish to do this. Although it is preferable to bed to the correct action dimensions (i.e- after blasting and rebluing), the slight loosening of tolerances is acceptable, especially so for the M98 type actions. If the action were to be painted/coated, it may be a different story. |

Austin MillerRe: Glass Bedding QuestionThat's what I was thinking. I think I'll do it before so I can send my stock to get painted sooner. Thanks! |
