Lane SalvatoWhen it's time to replace your M700 or M70 barrel, which manufacturer do you use? My experience thus far has been that the really well known manufacturers, such as Krieger, Bartlein, Brux, etc. have about a six month wait time. Shilen can be ordered pretty quickly, and I think that Lilja can too.So what do you guys prefer? |

Steve RichardsRe: Which Barrels Do you Use?As all my rifles are purely hunting rifles I use Sprinter barrels. Made here in Oz. Best value barrel around IMO. Also cut rifling unlike most of the other locally made barrels. |

Paul LevermanRe: Which Barrels Do you Use?Hi Lane - you can get a Benchmark in just about any contour you want, out of Washington state. I got mine locally in B.C. through a dealer in less than a week, but that was because he had a pile of them in stock. And if he had over 60 barrels, you can probably bet that Benchmark has some on the shelf. I'd post the link to their website but I just get garbage when I try to do that stuff.www.benchmark-barrels.com |

Tom DixonRe: Which Barrels Do you Use?Both my rifles wear Lothar Walther, they are excellent quality wise. You could try the website as they do a lot of ready profiled and threaded barrels for a variety of guns. Over here a lot of people are saying good things about Bergara barrels, they are cheap too... |

mark whiteleyRe: Which Barrels Do you Use?I have tried Mab and they shoot but I found them to be foulers as when I bought one they dont lap unless you ask for it to be done at a cost,I use shilen match and like them, so does my smith who has said the barrels are very consistent and good material to work with. I have thought of trying trueflight as I have seen them used by a mate who did have a problem with one loosing accuracy after run in but without question the barrel was replaced and his replacement is a hummer, the contour is a bit different but it shoots dots, great after sales service. cheers mark |

Bryan WebsterRe: Which Barrels Do you Use?In past years I have used Hart, Shilen and Benchmark. One thing that people may be interested in with respect to the Benchmark 5R barrels is they are incredibly accurate but also they tend to give signifcantly more average velocities than most I have tried using. My choice these days (I live in northern British Columbia Canada) leans to the benchmark products. |

Lane SalvatoRe: Which Barrels Do you Use?Guys,Thanks for the replies. Paul, I didn't know that there was a barrel maker in Winters. That's great! I live in Lubbock, so it's not far to get down there. It's closer than New Zealand anyway! I've heard a lot of great things about the True Flite Barrels, but have never heard of the Benchmark barrels. I'll have to look them up as well. Again, thanks for the help fellows. |

Paul LevermanRe: Which Barrels Do you Use?Sorry Lane, I should have said that the shop in Winters is just a Benchmark retailer. I found their link on the Benchmark website and just copied it here. It wasn't until later I checked them out, only to find that they are a dealer. But, you could probably get some good feedback from them and order through them. Sorry for the confusion. |
