Paul LevermanI've done a search through the forums and found nothing. That may reflect on my abilities, not the forums. I've also read http://www.ballisticstudies.com/Knowledgebase/Bedding+the+Ruger+1022.html.What it didn't tell me was whether or not the bedding was done as a full length or front and rear, or, whether to just leave the back end alone. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks. |

Bryan WebsterRe: Bedding the 10-22Pretty clearly laid out in that article Paul.I did not do that however. Put a Shilen match grade barrel on my 10/22 and put it in a Victor Titan stock which has a rear end mechanism to stabilize the rear stock and for the front it has a good aluminum bedding block. Put a wee but of Devcon Putty to hold the action centered in the stock and it shoots 1/4 inch five shot groups at 50 yards. The entire barrel is free floated. Stll nothing like my several Anschutz .22LR guns but decent for hunting grouse and rabbits. A couple friends I know bought the Bell & Carlson stocks for the 10/22 and have been raving about their accuracy but I have not shot or seen those guns yet. Both of those were the heavy barrelled versions.[b] |

Bryan WebsterRe: Bedding the 10-22There is also a recoil lug made by Little Crow Gunworks that is an extension of the part that fastens the barrel to the action. on that web site they had a demo use / installation into a Boyds stock and demoed the accuracy they got. A very simple install especially with a good router.https://littlecrowgunworks.com/product/grx-recoil-lug-for-the-ruger-1022/?v=3e8d115eb4b3 |
