Ricardo LaborinGents,As per the Second Edition of the Cartridges Book, the .277 145gr ELD-X is just an SST in disguise. I'm impressed with the SF factory load performance, once providing blood and tissue "spray" 5 meters away and a second time producing a fast kill on a butt-shot Coues whitetail. The SF is clocking 3090fps The PH 2970fps What would be the advantage of "trading up" to the PH?? Saludos! |

Bryan WebsterRe: .270 Win - Precision Hunter 145gr ELD-X vs. Superformance 140gr SSTFirst question is how do the SST bullets group compared to the other option. You already know how well they take down game. Second question is why bother with anything else if what you have groups well as well as has great terminal performance. |

Ricardo LaborinRe: .270 Win - Precision Hunter 145gr ELD-X vs. Superformance 140gr SSTBryan you're choked full of reason....jeje.I'm just wondering if it's worth it for the next ammo purchase. Mind you, in Mexico we need to jump through various hoops to get quality feed for the boys... |

Bryan WebsterRe: .270 Win - Precision Hunter 145gr ELD-X vs. Superformance 140gr SSTWel I like to shoot as well as hunt while my boys just really want to hunt more than anything. Once we find what their rifles like for what they are going after and conditions etc., there is little left for me to do until a new kind of hunt arrives...like dad I need some loads for a bison hunt...I have aften told persons I know to be mainly hunters this same idea as I mentioned...then went out and bought that new bullet and tried it in one of my own rifles just to see. If you are like me, I would just go buy a box and load them up and test them to see if they might meet your needs. |
