John SmithWhat OAL would you suggest for a 165 grain partition round fired inmy 1992 Browning 30.06 A-Bolt rifle. I tried an OAL of 3.330" and the bullets would stick in the rifling and not extract easily. Now I am using an OAL of 3.216 which seems to work okey. |

Warwick MarflittRe: OAL for 30.06 Cartrige for Browning A-BoltYou need to measure your chamber. Nathans books tell you how to do it and much more. Worth every penny as the series of books will teach you so much for the rest of your shooting life. |

John SmithRe: OAL for 30.06 Cartrige for Browning A-BoltGot out "The Practiical Guide To Reloading" and used my HornadyOverall Length Gauge. Confirmed that 3.216" would be a good O AL. That gives me a bullet jump of .098". With that OAL my cartridges seat and extract with no problems. Around 12 Jan I will get to the range to test for accuracy. |

John SmithRe: OAL for 30.06 Cartrige for Browning A-BoltOn 13 Jan. I made it to the range. My 30.06 reloads with anOAL of 3.216" chambered and extracted with no problems. And accuracy was excellent out of my 1992 Browning A-Bolt. Hopefully I will see more elk in 2018. |

Nathan FosterRe: OAL for 30.06 Cartrige for Browning A-BoltHi John, that's good to hear. Certainly a good bullet design and weight for mixed terrain shooting, driven at around 2850fps. |
