95 Gr TMK Tipped Matchking on game

Luke OnderkoHello! I just tried some 95 gr tipped matchkings in my 18" Tikka 243, getting 3060 fps and 1/2 moa accuracy, very impressed.Has anyone used this bullet on game yet? I have used the 69 gr TMK on coyotes and varmints quite a bit and it expands down to about 1600 fps, and gets explosive over about 2700 fps impact velocity. Wondering if anyone has first hand experience with the 95 GR. |

It sure does seem to offer some pretty attractive ballistics.Can I ask what powder you are using to achieve 3060 fps from your 18" barrel Tikka? I have H4350 and Superformance on hand but the new Reloder 23/26 look pretty promising for a 243 as well. |

I guess you are in luck.My specs are, factory t3 lite 10 twist 243, cut to 18" (bolt face to crown) Winchester Brass CCI200 primers 44 gr H4350 95 TMK at 2.825" (.035" jump in my chamber) 3060 fps, verified on magnetospeed and drop at 800 yards using .49 G1 BC |

Luke OnderkoRe: 95 Gr TMK Tipped Matchking on gamea few extra notes to add to this, the bullet has a very very short bearing surface compared to other bullets of the same weight (even shorter than 87 Vmax) so you can load it really hot without getting pressure. didn't start seeing any pressure signs until about 45 Gr H4350. Also, I like at 5000 ft elevation and these bullets stabilize fine, at sea level they may not be 100% stable |

I'm really looking forward to loading for my Tikka 243 it has already shown very good potential with a few factory loads, shooting the Federal Fusions into 1/2 moa. I just picked up some of the nosle 55 gr and 70 gr BT to play with while deciding on a heavier bullet potentially for deer. |

Luke OnderkoRe: 95 Gr TMK Tipped Matchking on game*Update*I've been using the 95 gr tmk on coyotes now for the last month and have killed a few between 100-800 yards. The bullet has preformed great and has opened up consistently down to about 1700 fps and provided quick kills and large wounds. Above 2700 fps impact velocity they cause a large entrance wound, but between 1700-2700 they are great. |
