Nathan FosterRe: Voere 2165Hi Peter, I don't have any experience with the Voere center fire rifles sorry. I tried to download the user manual to see how the tang safety effected the bedding. The tang safety and trigger unit appear to interfere with the tang assembly and it may not be possible to bed the tang when the rifle eventually needs bedding (such is the nature of wood, its not if but when). The manual download was a blurry scan of a printed booklet which was unusable. So I cannot answer any technical questions at either a theoretical level or practical level in lieu of my lack of experience. The stock design is not ideal for a larger caliber but will be OK in .25-06 for an adult shooter. Note that in magnum calibers, Voere utilize a completely different stock design. You can study more about this in the long range book available on this site, the same goes for tang designs and effects on accuracy. Sorry I can't offer more help. Voere have always had a reputation for high quality and excellent accuracy. The only thing we have to watch for these days, is the elitist competition that is prevalent at the moment amongst European designers. It is like a snob virus that only effects end users through foolish attempts at over engineering. The age of the intellectual idiot. Never confuse complexity with ingenuity. True innovation and genius is expressed through simplicity of form and design. I hope Voere has not fallen for the snob trend. I fear the day when the technology overlaps with our humanity. The world will only have a generation of idiots. Albert Einstein. |

PETER QUICKRe: Voere 2165Thank you for your response. I purchased long range hunting some months ago and have been on the hunt for a second hand rifle since to modify. An amusing story of stock modification, my grandfather, a very keen hunter now long passed, was losing the sight in his right eye. He preferred to shoot from the right shoulder so decided to modify the stock of his FN Browning Automatique shot gun. He made a Z shaped stock so he could shoot from the preferred shoulder, but sight with his left eye. Unfortunately he had not allowed enough nose relief, you can imagine the result! |
