Question for Nathan:

Your instructional Vimeo videos have been exceptionally helpful to me, supplementing your books.

When are we going to see more of these available?

Re: Vimeo Vids?
Hi John, we have two new vids on the go, due to be released in the coming weeks, currently in editing stage.

1. Ruger M77 bedding (plus the other critical aspects of the mag box, trigger and lug lapping). Video will be atleast 2 hours long to ensure the viewer is properly supported as he works through the job.

2. Remington M700 trouble shooting. In this vid, we take a rifle that is grouping all over an A4 sheet and turn it around, finishing with a very nice rig. This video is different to others in that rather than me showing the work start to finish, the rifle belongs to a client who has attempted DIY accurizing and made mistakes along the way. The mistakes are immensely common and are therefore extremely helpful, in fact more helpful than me showing everything going smoothly. We can learn a great deal more from me locating faults in both the rifle and the gun owner's work. Those who have watched the draft have considered to be one of the most useful videos they have ever watched on the subject of guns.

The Rem vid is certainly interesting and wasn't planned this way. The video was supposed to teach viewers how to deal with a stubborn fouling bore (hand lapping etc). But when I received the rifle, I found the common errors I spoke of, things that perhaps seem insignificant, perhaps skimmed over when you guys have read the accurizing book, but each leading to poor results. So this is an entirely organic video, though the video is broken into chapters that correlate to the TOC / chapters for the Accurizing book. I really love taking a grubby Remington SPS, the type folk complain about and just kicking it right in the arse, making it conform. This rifle started out all over (3.6" and up to 12") and now its just humming with two or three sweet spots. It's simply a pleasure to shoot. All of the steps in the video can be done in a DIY setting, no need for any fancy kit.

Following the release of these videos, we will move on to shooting technique / long range. These vids will be marked for graphic language, will be cutting to the core of things, won't be holding back. I can play nice in the workshop but when it comes to killing, we need to get real and I need to be able call bullshit as I see it.

Re: Vimeo Vids?
Nathan,

Thanks for the reply. I’m looking forward to these. I have one Ruger M77 in 6.5x55 that already groups sub-MOA and I want to trick that one up more.

But what about filming a “bedtime story” starring the Winchester Model 70 ? I have so many of them just waiting to be put to bed and I would love to see how you make them snug as a bug.

There’s nothing like a video for showing the finished product and how you get there.
