Luke HoldstockI don't have the tools or the time but I just can't seem to get away from the taunting ballistics of the 7mm practical. I know it's a bit of a long shot but does anyone in BC Canada have the Manson reamer and feel like doing some work for me?Only con is my current 7mmRM has a 24" barrel, which I don't think is a deal breaker. thanks |

John D. HaysRe: Anyone have 7mm Practical Reamer in BC?Luke, I bought mine along with a set of dies from Dave Manson. https://mansonreamers.com Charlie Robertson of Score-Hi did the rebarrel for me and bought the Practical reamer off of me. You might see if a professional gunsmith might do the same for you. Otherwise, I cant recommend Charlie enough. https://scorehi.com/ |

Ryan NafeRe: Anyone have 7mm Practical Reamer in BC?The Practical is certainly an interesting and very useful cartridge, but be careful of what you really intend to do with the rifle because a standard Rem Mag is probably the better option at close ranges. The Practical is getting up into the ultra-velocity territory with 160 grain bullets and you can potentially push them too fast at close ranges on medium game.In other words, if youre shooting beyond 300 yards on a very regular basis then the Practical is probably a very good choice. From 0 to 300, the Rem Mag will likely give more consistent performance on game, you avoid bullet blowup. |

Chris MurphyRe: Anyone have 7mm Practical Reamer in BC?I run the 180 ELDM in my practical and have taken large body red stags inside 100 yards with no issues also light framed goats from point blank to 1100yards with fantastic killing |

Ryan NafeRe: Anyone have 7mm Practical Reamer in BC?Thomas, I was definitely not aware of what you mentioned about the Manson reamer and the 180 grain ELD-M, yes that definitely changes things. |
