Luis VazquezRe: Copper for replacment of 22LR lead ammoNo Sir I have not, I saw it a while back and though hhmmmmm, interesting. I am curious as to how they might perform on small game. Besides Silhouette competition I use the .22 for small game like rabbits and our rule is head shots only, quick death and no meat damage. I dont know what benefit this ammo has besides velocity and where we hunt rabbits there isn't much opportunity for shots longer than 100m. And with current lead ammo they die just fone. |

Magnus VassbotnRe: Copper for replacment of 22LR lead ammoHi,Considering that they are stated at 870 fps at 100 yards (or what it was), they are probably not accurate past 70-80 yards, regardless of 50 yard accuracy, so I cant see any advantage over an accurate 40 grain lead sub, other than being better at destroying iron plinking targets. Wind drift is also probably enormous. The only real use I can see for them, is head shooting large/ tough sculled game at very short range (traps, dogs etc). For this they might be awesome for 22s. |
