Scott StruifIm looking for a 308 rifle with a 20 inch barrel. Seems all the mfrs offer is pencil barrels or varmint barrels in that length. Ill probably have to settle for a 22 barrel, which is close enough. A guy within driving distance of me has a Howa 22 sporter for sale. Problem is, its in a Blackhawk Knoxx Compstock stock. He says the stock is a modified Hogue full-length aluminum bedding block stock, the modification being Blackhawks springy-thingy recoil absorption system. Why anyone would need such a device on a 308 is anybodys guess. Has anybody tried one of these stocks? Blackhawk doesnt make them anymore, which may or may not reflect their utility. |

Scott StruifRe: Blackhawk Knoxx CompstockApparently the stock was manufactured by Hogue, with Blackhawks device built into it. The list price was >240USD, but theres a couple on EBay for $80, for the M700 and M70, new in the original packaging, so I think I answered my own question: Junk. |
