Kevin FlynnThought I'd pop in here and see if anyone had a guess as to how this happened...The context is a chipboard target backed by a very large tree stump, this bullet fragment found ones foot shy of the target's base. No metal fasteners used in mounting the target. Regards, KF |

Nathan FosterRe: Mystery BulletHi Kevin, its hard to tell with just the one photo and short description. It looks like an M193 projectile (5.56 / 55gr). The chip board may have been enough to cause the projectile to yaw. The projectile possibly exited the board in a state of instability, hit the stump (with little energy), then came back to the board. |
