Paolo ConsalviAfter reading the article about the 444, for the next hunting season I loaded some 240 xtp bullets. Wild boars on average do not exceed 80 kg. Anyone have field experience with this bullet? Thank you |

Nathan FosterRe: 444 MarlinHi Paolo, the 240gr XTP is fine for pigs, good resistance etc. I have tried my very best to put as much data as possible into the KB. The key now, is to work with what you have and to get some field data / evidence under your belt regarding performance of that bullet on local game weights / angles / ranges. Once you have this initial data using this middle of the road bullet, you can re-compare with my data, then decide what if anything needs to be changed and what you might like to experiment with. For now, just keep going as you are. |

Paolo ConsalviRe: 444 MarlinThanks Nathan, my fear is to throw in too much meat. I have already tried the 265 FP hornady with little satisfaction. I think it's too hard. The 30 kg animals go away. |
