VinceHi AllI've been following Hannah's post on brass for reloading and saw Nathan's response about the different versions of Hornady brass, does anyone know what version you get if you buy the unfired cases by themselves and more importantly I guess is this the best version for reloading? I've been using some Sako brass for my 7mm08 reloading with less success than I used to have with the old Hornady cases and have considered buying some fresh brass to start over again. Initial thoughts were to try some Lapua as I have had exceptional results in the .222 with these cases but it is a mild load and I tend shoot fairly hot loads in the 7mm08, which may not be ideal given Nathan has said they are heavier cases with thicker necks. Any thoughts? Cheers Vince |

Nathan FosterRe: BrassHi Vince, the boxed brass is (as far as I have seen so far) the same as the brass used for Superformance / Precision Hunter / Match. All the best. |

Ed SybertRe: BrassVince:Have you checked the neck clearance with your older Hornady brass and your current Sako brass? I ran into a situation with a Rem 700 in 7-08 that apparently has a tighter than average neck clearance. I turned a few thousanths off the case neck OD and solved the problem. Also got excellent accuracy. Cheers, Ed |
