Jim MoseleyNathan,Finally got to try the 105 amax on a small buck. The shot was 297 yds and penetrated both shoulders and turning lungs into mush. I really wasn't expecting a complete pass thru, but the buck only weighed 110 lbs. The exit wound was only 1/2" so I can only assume the internal fragmentation was extensive. I used the load posted earlier. Also shot my first coyote with the 7mag loaded with the 162 amax. 261 yds and what a mess that bullet made. The exit wound was elongated with a hole larger than your fist and peeled about 5 to 6 inches of hide back like a skinning knife would do. Haven't seen an exit wound like that. A mangy mutt to boot, but it was fun. |
