.308 Deepcurl

TONY POTTERJust doing some load development using Speer 165g Deepcurl in .308win. I have noticed that they actually measure .309 in diameter using a micrometer. I have checked some other .308 cal projectiles and they all measure .308 exactly. Is this any cause for concern any thoughts appreciated thanks. |

Nathan FosterRe: .308 DeepcurlHi Tony, a thou is nothing to worry about and can aid accuracy in loose factory rifle bores.Pressures may be just a touch higher than your usual load, you will possibly find that the sweet spot is about 1gr below your normal test range. Test from 42.5gr 2206H to 44.5gr 2206H in U.S made brass, carefully watching for pressure. Do not seat close to the lands, seat based on concentricity as per the COAL article on this site. Keep your camera handy when hunting please. |
