Scott SharmanI'm looking at adding a 300 WM to the safe. Traditionally I've bought Remington but I've also recently picked up a Weatherby Vanguard in .243 which I'm happy with. For this project the Tikka T3 stainless laminated was looking good until I re-read Nathan's Practical Guide. What I'm after; I've considered: The rifle will be used for stalking and longer range hunting for deer, goats and pigs. I'm tempted to stick with what I know but interested in other options and peoples experiences with these rifles. Cheers Scott |

sllindsayRe: Which .300WM?Scott,I can't speak specifically to the 300WM aspect, but I am absolutely sold on the Rem 700 platform - I have three and I love every one. However, I have replaced the triggers with Timneys. One is a 5R in .308 and that is my absolute favorite rifle. The 5R in 300WM would be my choice, for what it's worth. sl |

Its very tempting to go there again. |

faulknerRe: Which .300WM?Scott,I am a sucker for a Sako AV actions but the Rem 700 is a close second (sender/R5mill-spec)! Both have a mag well in the 3.600" length whack will get you the most from a 300 win mag. Cheers Aj |
