Craig HenardHi Nathan,I had a real nice guy on another forum give me a Factory steel trigger Guard to replace the cracked plastic guard on my 700 ADl synthetic 7mm Magnum !So I am going to play with this stock some before I order a Boyds. Nathan what torque do you recomend for the ADL stock and steel trigger guard ? Do I tighten the front one first etc? Thanks Craig |

Nathan FosterRe: Nathan,Remington ADL stock QuestionsHi Craig, for an unbedded rifle like this, 40 inch-lb. The ADL plastic was very soft so I wouldn't go any higher. The middle screw should be set at around 20-25 inch-lb.Realistically, the rifle should be stabilized and bedded, otherwise a great deal of ammo can be wasted with little result. But you never know, yours may shoot well as long as its kept cool enough to prevent vertical stringing from the pressure point bedding. |

Craig HenardRe: Nathan,Remington ADL stock QuestionsSo about even pressure for both front and back action screw and the tiny screw that holds the front of the trigger guard on gets 25 inch pounds?I would think that 20-25 inch pounds would break the tiny thing!! Thanks Craig |

Nathan FosterRe: Nathan,Remington ADL stock QuestionsHi Craig, just nip that middle screw up firm by hand, no need for a torque wrench. |
