Nathan FosterTo our forum members, it is with great sadness that I write of the passing of Adam Faulkner.I met AJ as I have met many you, via our business. After a time of chatting back and forth over rifle projects, AJ and his partner Hazel came to stay and hunt with us. We had the very best of times and developed very close ties. AJ spent a great deal of time studying bullet performance on large bodied Canadian game to help me with my research, Hazel also put in many hard hours. As a forum member, AJ was extremely supportive and kind towards other members. Although he lived many thousands of miles away, he was one of my closest friends. With such an easy friendship and earnest nature, I cannot imagine the loss Hazel must feel. Hazel- tall, attractive, smart, a keen sense of humor and a quick wit. Loyal and loving. A crack shot with her .300 WSM. I know, friends come and friends go in this world. Some stay with us for only for the briefest of times, others stay with us for longer. We have all faced it before and we will all face it again. As hunters we must surely understand that such things are natural. Yet in this moment it feels so unnatural to lose our dear friend. To Hazel- all of our love. One hour at a time, one day at a time. To Pat (AJ's hunting buddy), keep well my friend. |

Nathan FosterRe: Adam Faulkner, dearest of friendsThanks everyone.I have cut a few lines from Hazel's email today.... Thank you so much for your kind words on your sites discussion forum, they mean a lot to me. Please thank your other forum members for their words of sympathy, it was nice to hear how well he was liked and respected after a hard nights sleep. All signs currently point towards a thoracic aortic aneurysm. Fast and painless, just like his good companion Gus and my best hound, Harvey. Im sure they are hiking the mountains together again as we speak. He was a huge part of my life, my other half |

Pat PennerRe: Adam Faulkner, dearest of friendsThank you all for your kind words...Adam was the best you could ask for. With his passion for the outdoors and adventure, he had more irons in the fire than most. His off the wall humour kept all those around in stitches, or maybe shock if you just met him. lol. Shooting/ballistics was the topic of many long discussions and he was relentless in the pursuit of knowledge....Adam was an accomplished bushman, hunter, athlete and most of all friend...The woods around here will be a quieter place and we are going to miss him...Keep your powder dry my friend.Pat |
