thomas kitcheni have slowly been fixing a rossi 44mag for a mate that was given to him by a guy that had to use it to break up a dog fight. been heating and bending the lever and few other parts back into shape. nothing to do with the lock up mechanism. i need to repaint where i have heated parts to prevent rust. any recommendations would be appreciated cheers |

Mike DavisRe: best paint to use on a blued gunthere is a metal paint..cant think of name right now.. finish looks like Mums meat dish...a few rifles on Trademe recently redone with it...looked great and will be very hard wearing, Brother in law redid rusty bit on 4x4 with it and lasts really well. Ive done an old single banger shottie using thick layer of industrial primer and painted over it...work horse not show pony but never have to worry about her rusting. if pighunter is anything like guy I know down here the state of rifle will make a grown man cry, I took wee can of oil and rag with me last time we hunted together and gave his SS rossi a really good surface cleaning. mud n blood everywhere. |

Mike NeesonRe: best paint to use on a blued gunI have been researching this product. Plastidip. Rubberized coating that gives good grip and texture AND if you don't like it you can peel it straight off. It looks pretty cool. There is also a primer avail that makes it more permanent. Colours come in matt. People are spraying their cars in this stuff - doing camo schemes and so forth, and then peel it off in a few months and change it up. It seems to wear reasonably well and easy to touch up too.http://youtu.be/60sO8SFGlXE http://youtu.be/efH2yLmzLuw https://www.plastidip.net.au/plasti-dip-camo |
