Ricardo LaborinGentlemen, Happy New Year first of all!I have to come clean, I love Monte Carlo stocks - the feel and looks - having had lovely experiences in .22's and .243's, and a not so pleasant one with a .300 WSM. I'm looking to restock my Rem 700 .270 Win (cracked Kevlar factory stock) with either a straight HS or the McMillan Hunter with Monte Carlo. The barrel is a mountain contour @ 24". For the experienced folks out there, is there a significant boost in felt recoil in the .270 Win with a Monte Carlo as opposed to a straight stock?? The below shows the old Monte Carlo .300 WSM and the Current .270 Win ![]() |

Nathan FosterRe: Monte Carlo Stock in Mild-Recoiling CalibersI am late in the game for this one but...The BDL style monte carlo is not really the same as the European monte carlo stocks or WBY style stocks. The BDL is a better design. |
