New Long Range Ammo Line From Federal

Luke LahdenrantaSo I just happened to see this on the Federal ammunition website, they have introduced a new line of ammunion to compete in the long range hunting game the Edge TLR line. Here it is:http://www.federalpremium.com/ammunition/rifle/bullet/edge-tlr/edge-tlr/ Now I'm just getting started in the long range game but this strikes me as incredibly odd choice for a long range bullet, it looks to me like gussied up trophy bonded bear claw. It seems to me that Federal/Speer/ATK would have been much further ahead just offering a line of ammo with the Speer btsp at an affordable price in the blue box line... |

Sebastian ShandRe: New Long Range Ammo Line From FederalHmmmm interesting,It says it has a small bonded lead core with copper shank so it won't explode on close range shots. To me this doesn't sound that great for true long range hunting, but in saying this they only have 500yards as there long range chart and 300yards for medium range. Apparently it will expand properly out to 900yards but they don't state a caliber or muzzle velocity. |
