Jim MoseleyI live and hunt in South Carolina USA. In April of '19 I'm going to Namibia Africa to hunt plains game. Oryx, heartbeast, and springbuck are the game. This is a cull hunt and each hunter is allowed 12 animals. I'll be working my way out to 1300 yds on this hunt. So the question is how does the Southern Hemisphere affect spin drift and coriolis as compared to the Northern hemisphere? You guys down under should have this down pat. Thanks, Jim |

Caleb MayfieldRe: North vs Southern HemisphereHi Jim. Congratulations on the upcoming hunt! Sounds incredible. On the topic of spin drift and Coriolis, I'm actually working my way through Nathans Long Range Shooting book right now and in that section. The wealth of information on this topic alone would be well worth the investment in the Long Range Shooting book if you don't have it or any of the others yet. Nathan has laid out how to work through this and the adjustments needed for both northern and southern hemispheres. It's far more information than I could give you in a single post. |
