Modifying Federal Match

I've got access to a bunch of federal match .308. In the books, I read that one could open up the tip a bit to make it better for hunting. So, I suppose my question is, is it worth it? Or should I just use that stuff to practice with? Also, if it is a good idea to try to modify the ammo, any tutorials showing how? I've seen the stuff on annealing the SST, but didn't see anything on the federal match.

Try Hornady Match. It's loaded with the Amax which is an excellent hunting bullet.

Stuart:

If you want to experiment with modifying the hollow point bullets, here are some tools to take a look at:

I think you will be just fine with opening the tip-hole with 1.5mm drill .
SMK bullets is very fragile..I don't think you need to aneal it .

I trust these are only the bullets and not the loaded rounds that you were wanting to play with. From the replies I think it should be made more clear.
