Stuart TalbotI've got access to a bunch of federal match .308. In the books, I read that one could open up the tip a bit to make it better for hunting. So, I suppose my question is, is it worth it? Or should I just use that stuff to practice with? Also, if it is a good idea to try to modify the ammo, any tutorials showing how? I've seen the stuff on annealing the SST, but didn't see anything on the federal match. |

Jim MoseleyRe: Modifying Federal MatchTry Hornady Match. It's loaded with the Amax which is an excellent hunting bullet. |

Anders ÖsterbergRe: Modifying Federal MatchI think you will be just fine with opening the tip-hole with 1.5mm drill .SMK bullets is very fragile..I don't think you need to aneal it . |

Bryan WebsterRe: Modifying Federal MatchI trust these are only the bullets and not the loaded rounds that you were wanting to play with. From the replies I think it should be made more clear. |
