markHi guy's,I got a t3x to bed, I had anticipated just using the factory steel recoil lug but before I start, I just wondered if anyone has had issues with the black coating either coming off with the epoxy glue when temporarily holding it in place for bedding or from general use? It seems to be scratched fairly easily. Or am I better to just replace with a stainless one? Cheers |

Scott StruifRe: T3x steel recoil lug beddingHi, Mark. I dont own one, but since nobody has responded . . . I believe the factory lug on those is aluminum, coated to prevent it from corroding by being in direct contact with the steel. But you should definitely read the applicable sections in the LR Rifles and Accurizing & Maintenance books. Its probably covered in depth in the Tikka video, too. |

Nathan FosterRe: T3x steel recoil lug beddingHi Mark, the Tikka T3x lug is blued mild steel. All you need to do is de-grease it and carry on as per the bedding instructions. For better corrosion resistance you can employ a stainless steel lug if you prefer. All the best, Nathan. |
