Lane SalvatoRe: Fun with the .30-06Such a fun video. The old 30-06 hasn't lost a step, and it's nice to see a new generation wielding it like a champion. Thanks for sharing this with us. |

Magnus VassbotnRe: Fun with the .30-06Nice video, impressive shooting from both generations! The 30-06 is such a joy. If I had to choose just one of my rifles (god forbid), it would be it. Cheers, Magnus |

Todd FreeRe: Fun with the .30-06I had mine out this weekend plinking at 520, 680 and 730 yds. Wind still gives me a lot of trouble!!The two shots at 730 yds would have been clean kills, but I still mis-judged the drift by 4 inches. The rocks did not mind. |

Scott StruifRe: Fun with the .30-06Great video! Makes you wonder who needed the suppressor! |

Joshua MayfieldRe: Fun with the .30-06This is great, Nathan. Thanks for sharing. I had my 12 year old son watching with me. It's time to introduce him to some more advanced calculations. He's doing well with the basics of aim and fire technique and his rifle has a good scope on it. Seeing Riley do her own calculations is motivating - time for Noah to put some of that "useless" math he's been learning to practical use. As a dad I always appreciate when you share about Riley's growth and skills with a rifle. And when the subject rifle is chambered in the cartridge closest to my heart, even better. |

Cody CardonRe: Fun with the .30-06Would you mind sharing the specs on your rifle in the video? Such as barrel weight, length, twist, custom throating, stock, total weight. After reading your book and forums a 30-06 sounds great and yours in the video looks like a great one to try and duplicate. Thanks |

Nathan FosterRe: Fun with the .30-06Hi Cody, specs as follows (see also youtube description):Remington M700 action, Clive Judd prototype stock (pre carbon fiber), True-Flite 1:10 twist barrel 24", Manson reamer .30-06 FMR, DPT modular suppressor, Weaver 20 MOA rail, Burris Signature rings with 20 MOA cant, Sightron SIII 6-24x50 MOA-2, Allen cheek rest, Cobra leather sling. Hornady brass, Fed 210, Reloader 22, 195gr ELD-M. Weight 11lb. Muzzle diameter is .650". I would suggest a muzzle diameter of .625" and a somewhat lighter stock (e.g. Clive Judd Carbon fiber stock) for a better carry weight. If you want to make it a bit different, you could try the .30-06 Ackley Improved FMR 2021 reamer, as opposed to the standard .30-06 FMR (Foster Manson Reamer). |

Gerry MoriartyRe: Fun with the .30-06This is a great video. I havent been to this forum in a while. Two weeks ago I pulled my 30-06 out from the corner of the safe and went to the range. While at the range I employed many of the techniques learned from Nathan. It was a very successful day shooting. Because holding the forearm is part of my mantra I thought Id visit this site and was rewarded with this video. Thanks for sharing. |
