John DengateHi all,in the topic "shooting off a bipod" Nathan says if the T3 is not properly set up, accuracy wanes very quickly. As a new owner of a T3, I'm wondering what I need to do to avoid the accuracy waning quickly. Any thoughts? JD |

Martin TaylorRe: T3 set-up and maintenanceG'day John,Dan is spot on! Nathans books will cut out all the BS and give you clear direction and explanation on what is needed! Great investment. The Tikkas are great rifles and easy to work with once you know about a few tricks/traps. Stock stabilisation and torque settings etc. Cheers Marty |

Jake longRe: T3 set-up and maintenanceI know this is a old post but thought this was good info to pass on. I'm in the process of setting up a T3 ultralite and will be replacing a few parts.Screws, Lug, and shroud These guys make some excellent upgrades. https://tikkaperformance.com/mountain-tactical?page=2 Jake |

Dan KeeneRe: T3 set-up and maintenanceHi Jake. Be careful of those "Upgrades". The action screws on a Tikka should only be tightened to 30 in lbs. So new ones are only going to be a cosmetic benefit. The lug will cause all sorts of issues if it is not exactly the correct size. The bolt shrouds (although plastic and can split) do not fail. I have only sold one in the last 4 years.Cheers, Dan. |
