chris murphyRe: 7 Mag / 162 SST's Reload Infohave you guys tried the 168 vlds? I've used two loads in the past, 68.5 grn winchester 780 and 73.8 grn of 2225 both with mv round 3075 in 24" barrel.i ran with the 780 as it was a cheaper load and the both shot the same. I've just re barreled rifle and going to test both powders again. |

Tony PotterRe: 7 Mag / 162 SST's Reload InfoJimMight pay to back off powder load a grain or two if copying my data. My rifle usually finds accuracy sweet spot at or close to max loads.Have you tried using your amax load data after all its still a 162g pill. |

Nathan FosterRe: 7 Mag / 162 SST's Reload InfoHi Jim, sorry for the late reply, I sustained a few injuries this week which knocked me back a bit.I suggest the same 10 thou jump. Back loads off 1.5 grains from your current load and work back through with the same test loads you tried when developing the A-Max load through to full pressures. See how you get on. If things don't go well, we can look at seating depth experimentation. The COAL will be roughly .094 shorter than your current load as a ball park figure. |
