Alvaro Piqueras Alonso-LambertiI don´t use them, just because I like the old stuff, and they are much cleaner. But I have come across a hundred 168 A-max moly coated, and there aren´t many other options now (short of supplies). It will be nice if there is a "easy" way to remove all that moly out. But, if I have to go on with that... Do I need to do any prep on the barrel? Can I use moly and non moly bullets at the same time? Or there will be some moly deposits in the barrel that affects the non moly bullets. Now i live near the sea, so moly will make rusty environment wrong! For what it worths, I will be loading the 168´s for a 308W rem 700 police rifle. Thank you for your help! |

Bob MavinRe: Moly bulletsG'day AlvaroI cant help you with the moly. On Nathans advice Ive been testing 168 A-Max in my 30-06, very happy so far, good penetration better than I expected. I thought they might have been too soft. Im using 168 Z-Max apparently theyre identical to the 168 A-Max. Cheers Bob |

Nathan FosterRe: Moly bulletsI have used the same in the past Alvaro. A tight fitting bronze brush and a good solvent will take care of the moly. I have used my .308 interchangeably with moly and non moly on the same day. If you are shooting long, you may want to test differences but otherwise, stick to normal cleaning regimes at the end of a day etc. |

Alvaro Piqueras Alonso-LambertiRe: Moly bulletsThanks Bob and Nathan! Will use them, and try to get the non-coated when I run out of them. Maybe will run them through the tumbler with some old media. Let´s do some tests! |

Shawn BevinsRe: Moly bulletsI have removed moly with acetone. . It works okay. Doesn't remove all of it but you don't get any color on a piece of tissue afterwards. [b] |
