load testing with low mag scope

i've recentlty swapped from a 3-9x to a 1.75-5x vortex diamondback on my blr.
i'm also going to work up a new load for this rifle.

i shot a 100yrd group on the weekend but found it hard with the lower mag and thick reticle to get a precise point of aim.

its clear that i will need to use a different target , prehaps a square turned on a 45 degree angle to help centre the x-hairs.

anyone got any recommendations as to targets ?
prehaps i should test loads at 50m?

hi Ben if you go into knowledge base under rifle accuracy there's some targets Nathan has made they are great to use. if you still struggle might have to change range a little bit closer while you do load development

I find a cross works well for me as you can line up cross hairs both ways even with a 4x scope. if you trying for load testing only you COULD swap scope over and then back when you have load sorted. then again if you intend to be shooting at under 150-200 yards maybe you dont really need to get quite so finicky with group size just as long as they are consistently where you want them
