Rory WilksHas anyone used Superformance powder in the 7mm Rem Mag? If so what were your results?I have a 24 in barrel and was wondering if it might work well since its load measurements are similar to h4831 but it's advertised to produce more velocity in almost all cartridges. It's also usually available in one of the outdoor stores in my town, whereas H1000 is almost impossible to get in my area. I'm not sure if everyone else likes it and grabs it up quick or what. I'm looking to load 162-168g bullets. Thanks! |

Jim MoseleyRe: 7mm SuperformanceI've only used it in my 243 with the 105 A-max. Works well. Never tried it in the 7 mag. Can't see why it would not. Just keep an eye on your pressures. Let us know how well it works. |

Mike DavisRe: 7mm SuperformanceFrom discussions on other forums I would be very weary..it seems as if there are a few different versions of these new superduper powders that are used in the superpreformence and leverlution loadings and only ONE type available to reloaders....the skinny on it seems to say where it is good its awesome but it has a very fine band of usefulness.I would highly recommend contacting manufacturer and getting RELIABLE data and not risk your rifle on third or fifteenth hand info ...just my take on it. |

Jim MoseleyRe: 7mm SuperformanceThe Superformance you buy off the shelf is a general consumer powder. It's one notch slower than H-4831 and H-4831 SSC. Hodgen will "not" sell the special blends they load for their ammo to the general public because they are caliber specific. If you look on the bottle, it has 22-250 to 300 short mag. That's a large window to reload within. It's just as safe to reload as any other powder. I spoke with the guys at Hogden when the powder first hit the store shelves. I am definitely not one to experiment with powders that are not safe. One, my rifle cost to much to screw up and second I'd look funny walking around with a bolt stuck between my eyes. Just use the normal precautions in everyday reloading and you are fine. |

Mike DavisRe: 7mm SuperformanceHmmm sorry if I worded that wrong, didnt mean to put down powder, or class it as no good. the AR 2206h we use has huge range of cartridges it CAN BE used in aswell eg .223 7.62x39mm 30/30 and even .270 BUT its not the BEST powder in the range for the likes of .270AR 2213sc is considered much better (for .270) and that powder is now marketed as H4831sc as well for hogdgon users BUT if you look in different loading manuals you will see they have different(subtle maybe) load data/resulting velocity. you hit nail on head Jim calibre specific which is what I was trying to get at..very good where it works....and right on the money with getting the RIGHT data. |

Jim MoseleyRe: 7mm SuperformanceHey Mike Davis,Notice how I misspelled Hogdgon not once, but twice and I had the bottle in my hand. When you hit 60, it's all downhill...... |
