Bob MavinG'day allI'm so impressed with my little Nightforce 2.5-10x24 scope, I've decided to buy another. I'm poised ready to buy a Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x50 but they just release a new model a first focal plane Nightforce SHV 4-14x50 F1 rifle scope. http://nightforceoptics.com/shv/4-14x50-f1 The SHV is a lower class model than NXS but this one has some good features, having your hold over reticule work at all magnifications sounds good. Does anyone have an opinion? Bob |

Bryan WebsterRe: New nightforce shv/4-14x50-f1It is their lower priced model and many review articles I have read say good things of them. Personally however, I never have placed a lot of trust in online reviews. They could well be good but in my much narrow minded viewpoint, I think and recommend the one you like but think of the Nightforce 2.5-10x42 compact scope with Zero stop as the best hunting scope NF makes. |

Nathan FosterRe: New nightforce shv/4-14x50-f1Just be aware, the eye relief is short on this model.I have not used this new scope but the eye relief specs cause immediate concern. Sometimes a short eye relief scope is also finicky in that your sight picture can be off with the slightest shift of the head back and forwards. In other words, its either a perfect picture (and smack in the eye) or shadows. Very annoying if you set the rifle up wearing a light shirt, but then it won't give a full site picture if you have a jacket or pack straps on, or from various changes in shooting position. Some of the old Bushnells are like this. |

Bob MavinRe: New nightforce shv/4-14x50-f1Thanks guysI noticed the 3" relief after posting I think I'll go with the NXS 3.5-15x50 4" eye relief |
