Bryan WebsterRe: New Sightron STAC scopes for 2016Just to make it easier, here are the links to the 4 2016 models here on theirUSA web site: http://info.sightron.com/Riflescopes/S-TAC-Series/S-TAC3-16x42/ http://info.sightron.com/Riflescopes/S-TAC-Series/S-TAC3-16x42MOA/ http://info.sightron.com/Riflescopes/S-TAC-Series/S-TAC4-20x50/ http://info.sightron.com/Riflescopes/S-TAC-Series/S-TAC4-20x50MOA/ The prices in US$ are shown on the top right of each page. just released, so I doubt if Canadian dealers other than Mystic Precision have them or likely too, your NZ dealers. I am always a tiny bit careful when companies release lower priced models so am really hoping there will be some decent reviews done by those new owners. I know Jerry sold every one that he got in within a very short time. |

Thomas KitchenRe: New Sightron STAC scopes for 2016i contacted sightron just to see if there's any plans to bring out the 3-16 in mil dot, but at this stage there is no plans.this looks like it would be a good scope for an all round rifle, i did think about getting one and putting it on my tikka 270 then putting the 4-16 bigsky on my magnum but there is a big difference in weight between the s tac and big sky. i want the weight on the magnum and not sure i want any more on the tikka plus im not sure i want to have mildot on one and moa on the other. there's only .5 ounce different between the s tac 3-16 and a s3 6-24. hopefully more reviews come out shortly |

Warwick MarflittRe: New Sightron STAC scopes for 2016Thanks for the headsup Bryan. I read some of his other reviews and he's not afraid to point out the faults . Check out this $3400 Cdn one. It's all good until the adjustment tests start.http://mysticprecision.com/2016/02/vortex-razor-hd-gen-2-4-5-27x56/ I wanted to check out his other reviews and see if he was chasing the $$$ or being impartial and honest? Let's say that he's not shy of calling it as it is |

Bryan WebsterRe: New Sightron STAC scopes for 2016From having spoken to him a fair bit, he does not come across as one whose only issue is selling stuff, but I have no idea if that is the case or not. His main interest is certainly long distance rifle competition and hunting, and he does very well at that. He does have a strong soft touch for Sightron scopes and there are very few Canadian dealers, so he does like to take newer scopes and tends to compare them to some of the Sightrons he uses, which he did in the article you read about the Vortex scope after borrowning it for his review. He did say it could have been a 'one of' scope and never had access to others of the same model to test. His last article spoke about the new Tangent Theta Canadian made scopes, and their quality has been repeatedly mentioned elsewhere. Not having seen one of those, I couldnt say, but he also indicated he was not able to test one off the bench if I recall correctly, so his article is naturally limited...others have said good things about them, though their cost is mentioned a lot too. |
