Andrew MurrayHi all,I've noticed that sightron seem to only have mil dot reticles with mil clicks in their SIII series. Are there older models out there SII and Big Sky that have the mil/mil configuration? I have seen the mil dot reicle with MOA clicks but my personal preference would be to stay as metric as possible, even though MOA is by far the most prolific system at the moment... It's just a personal preference thing really... Having MOA reticle with MOA clicks wouldn't be the end of the world but having a mix of both seems a little messy, and extra maths too... Once I've done the math though I can't write it down and keep it handy but you know... |

Nathan FosterRe: Mil Dot with Mil clicksHi Andrew, they do, its just a matter of understanding the models. The Mil turret, Mil dot reticle model is called LRMD/CM: http://info.sightron.com/Riflescopes/SIII-Series/SIIISS624X50LRMD-CM/ You should be able to find a close up of the turrets of this exact model in the shooting book. |

Andrew MurrayRe: Mil Dot with Mil clicksCheers Nathan,Do they do it with any other models? I saw that one in the book and saw a really sweet deal on one on eBay for $750USD. Very tempted to jump on it. Have you found that it is the more expensive (not necessarily quality but also implied that price=quality) units that come in the mil/mil configs? And is there any real issues with mil dot/moa turrets other than me having a whinge? |

Nathan FosterRe: Mil Dot with Mil clicksThe Sightron units are price / quality reflective. The more you spend, the higher the quality regarding function and clarity. There is absolutely no issue with MOA turrets and mil dots. This system has worked extremely well for a good many of my clients. The 1125 yard shot I showed on youtube was with MOA dialing and mil dot windage hold off. Of course it takes a degree of practice to use any system at this range. |

Bryan WebsterRe: Mil Dot with Mil clicksAlso nothing wrong with Mil-Mil and MOA-MOAI have both and prefer the MOA-MOA as it is a whole lot easier/simpler to use compared with the bit of math one has to do using Mil-Mil. This is of importance to me as I take the grandchildren as well as freinds out on occasion and want them to do their own ranging as well as dialing shots and none of them know much about mil-mil. |
