Alvaro Piqueras Alonso-LambertiHi all!I have a question about the value of a clik in a Sightron SII Big Sky 6-24x42 with Mil Dot reticle. The tech specs in the Sightron page claims that 1 clik equals to 1/8 of an inch, but Nathan stated that it´s 1/8 MOA. This is a copy-paste from Sightron webpage (http://info.sightron.com/Riflescopes/SII-Series---Big-Sky/SIIB62442MD/) Item Number: 63024 Sku Number: 793139-630247 Model Name: SIIB62442MD Magnification: 6-24x Object Diameter: 42 Eye Relief: 3.8-3.9 Reticle Type: Mil-Dot Click Value: 1/8 IN I´m thinking why the SII scopes, having one inch tube and smaller turrets, are calibrated in 1/8 (MOA or inches), instead of quarters. Thank you! |

Nathan FosterRe: What´s the calibration on a Big Sky scope? (MOA or INCH)Hi Alvaro, all Sightron scopes have in the past had inches stamped on them, but have always been true to MOA. I sent a few emails to Sightron stating that they needed to change the stamp to reflect the MOA values. It is only recently that I have seen MOA stamped on SIII models but still no change to the SII series. The scope that you are looking at is true to MOA, I have used this model to just over 1000 yards. I once tested an entry level 4.5-14 Sightron that was just a touch off true MOA (again advertised in inches) but the difference was so slight at long ranges, that small changes in temperature made as much and more of a difference to the long range POI. I think from memory I was an inch or maybe 1.5" low at 600 yards. |
