how many clicks

I've got a Leopold vx-3L 4.5-14x50 illuminated that I bought for a Mauser rifle that's has been being built about 18 months ago,
its getting closer to getting the rifle back so I started having a look at the scope and realized its metric,
so what my question is, if the rifle is zero'd at 100m and
1 click equals 1cm at 100m,
at 500m your drop is -137.57 cm would it be 27 clicks up to zero at 500m?
I have read Nathans book and do usually go by MOA but its to late to send the scope back so I want to make the most of it :)

regards mark

Re: how many clicks
I recently sent a vxii back to leupold to have them install standard MOA turrets. The price was very reasonable and the turn around time was a matter of days. As usual leupold impressed me yet again.

Re: how many clicks
27click (2.7 mils) is correct.

The calculation is; drop (cm) / Distance to target (metres) x10 = Mil

Re: how many clicks
My Sierra program calls for 7.9 MOA come up.

7.9 x 1.047 x 2.54 = 21 clicks.

MOA converted to Inch converted to CM.

I am a bit tired this morning but this is how it reads. I have a mate running a similar Mk 4 scope.

Hi Mark
I use a Sightron with a mil dot retical & CM clicks, very happy with it, especially the mil dots.

Use a range finder in meters and you'll get used to it. Just think in metric and don't try to relate to MOA. I would hold over 27 clicks, but if Nathan's correct we'd both miss!

Re: how many clicks
thanks very much everyone for the replies,
I'm very new to adjusting your scope for different range's and tried to get my head around the how to, as usually I would use a sag (smart arsed guess)
the penny dropped after many days of trying to calculate how to convert from metric to MOA and as usual it was right in front of me,
as Bob said dont think in MOA think in meters, (very hard for this old think in inches head) so what I did is the same as what I have been doing for MOA, divide the drop distance -137.57cm by 5 (500m) the answer is 27.5cm so I came up with 27 clicks, or say at 400m the drop in cm is -76.06cm divided by 4 = 19.01cm so 19 clicks those drop numbers are with a 100m zero, I've got to say though Barry I did consider your suggestion to send the scope back to get MOA turrets, I have got my drop information from pointblank ballistic software with no uphill/downhill trajectory, the caliber is 6.5x284 using a berger 140gr projie .612 BC at 899.16mps (2950fps) and 100m zero, I cant wait to get the rifle back,
I really wish I had bought Nathans books before I had started trying out longer range shooting but as usual I read the instructions after I start something :)
thanks again best regards mark

Re: how many clicks
Hi Mark
I think you've got it sorted mate!
I wouldn't waste money changing your turrets, you'll get used to it.
I use a program (phone app) called "Shooter" does it all. I have my hunting rifle 30-06 sighted in 65mm high at 100m, less clicks, point blank out to 250m. Do everything in metric!

6.5x284 is it set up as a hunting rifle or for target?

Cheers
Bob

a longer range (600m) hunting rifle, its a mauser 98 commercial action, worked by the gunsmith with a shillen #7 stainless match barrel, I put a timney trigger on it but the original adjustable trigger it already had was better so went back to it, I have a Boyds thumb hole varmint stock but am thinking of changing it to maybe a richards microfit marksman,
regards mark
