Nathan, a few questions

I picked up a used Rem ADL 7mm Magnum and I am going to put Burris Signatures on it with a Leupold 4-12 VX1x40 with long range duplex .
I am wanting to deer hunt with a range out to 700 yards.
Would you recomend the Burris Zee signatures with Weaver style 2 piece bases(Steel or Aluminum??)
Or the Burris Signatures with dual dovetail Bases(Leupold) ?

Thanks
Craig

Re: Nathan, a few questions
I prefer the weaver style bases or rails, steel or ali- both are fine. These days, the only time I use windage adjustable bases is if I discover serious misalignment of the scope base holes in the action effecting windage adjustments.

Thanks Nathan.
I just didn,t know if it was okay to use the Steel Burris rings with the Aluminum Weaver bases.

Nathan I was referring to the Dual Dovetail Bases and not the Windage adjustable bases .
Curious as to whether you thought the Dual Dovetail was a stronger system ,more rugged, than the Weaver type System.

Thanks again

Re: Nathan, a few questions
It is hard to say whether one system is stronger that the other. I can state that if the rings are removed often, the dovetails can lose a degree of integrity with wear. Few people make such changes though.

The weaver type system I mentioned is very basic and very strong. It is a very simple system and will allow you to remove and refit your scope if need be, without having to disassemble the rings.
