Andrew Dobbinhi allI have finally saved enough to look at getting a S111 6-24x50 to replace the old VX1 loopy on my 300 WSM. problem is that i am stuggling to decide between the MOA 2 SFP, the same recticle in FFP or Nathans favorite mil dot SFP. I really like the fine cross hair of the moa 2 but am worried that it will be hard to pick up in low light conditionsas alot of my hunting is done near (or sometimes after) sunset, or in murky wintertime bush. Any thoughts on the practical differences between these scopes and recomendations on which one a newby should get will be appreciated. Thanks Andrew |

Nathan FosterRe: First LR scopeHi Andrew, if you want the MOA scope, get the MOA scope. Realistically, if you find later that its not for you, you will have no trouble selling it. |

Bryan WebsterRe: First LR scopeI must agree with Nathan here, however there might be the option of having Sightron install a new reticle of your choice as well. If you go to their USA web site you will be able to find out more about doing so. Depending on your location perhaps this would be an option or not?I have had this done for Leupold scopes before that worked out well. http://info.sightron.com/ |

Bryan WebsterRe: First LR scopeJust to add - it is too bad Sightron does not have a more sophisticated illumination system for their MOA-2 reticle...one reason I find Nightforce illuminated scopes useful...just a bit more costly, but it only hurts once. |
