Bob MavinHi all.I was looking for a scope for my 358 Winchester, my zeiss has wacked me for the last time!!!!! Just hit the buy button on a Nightforce 2.5-10x24 NXS. A bit of a punt as I have haven't actually seen one, but it seemed like a good option for this rifle. Does anyone have any experience with this scope? Cheers Bob |

Warwick MarflittRe: Nightforce 2.5-10x24 NXSI have a 1-4 x 24 NXS NF. With illuminated reticle. It's been on my 223 CZ carbine an amazing scope for close bush work. Your one will be perfect. I'd like a 358 Winchester to put under my NF In hindsight I probably should have gotten the 10x but the low no zoom on mine is deadly when bambis only 30ft away and running it's impossible to miss lol |

Bob MavinRe: Nightforce 2.5-10x24 NXSThanks guys. Thanks for the link Bryan, I wish mine was 42mm but it's 24mm I took a punt on the scope but at $780 from original owner I had to decide quickly. Most of my shooting with the 358W is around 200m occasionally out to 300m and a few close ones thrown in. The NP-R2 reticle should be good for hold overs. I have to find some 30mm mounts for my L579 Sako now. Cheers Bob |

Bob MavinRe: Nightforce 2.5-10x24 NXSWell my scope turned up. I'm very impressed, set on 10x it has 1ft more field of view than my Sightron @ 100yds. Perfect scope for my 358 Winchester.I'll take it to the range tomorrow and work out the reticle drops |

Bryan WebsterRe: Nightforce 2.5-10x24 NXSI have played with one like you have and still it is the quality that impresses me on both. Good stuff. How did you fare on your range work with it? |

Bob MavinRe: Nightforce 2.5-10x24 NXSHi BrianI really like the scope. at 10x its a little bit more sensitive to eye lineament than my bigger Sightron, but no problem. Our range only goes to 100m, I'll go hunting again soon, I'll sight it in at 200m and set targets at 250m, 300m to see how the hold over marks go. I've been playing with loads in my 358 Winchester, finally settled on ADI 2206H powder pushing 225gn Sierra GK & Woodleigh PP at 2510fps 1/2" groups @100m. That should do the job nicely. I neck up Lapua 308 palmer cases they have a small rifle primer (tough as), I finally fired all 100 cases once at 2620fps, knocking down 100fps has made my 8lb Sako nice to use. That's how the Nightfoce came about, sick of getting cracked with my short eye relief Zeiss when taking a few quick shots uphill. The rifle is a nice setup now, ready to hunt anything Australia has |
