Mark WhitakerI am in need of a good comfortable day Pack for tropical day hunts.Just wondering what you are all using or what you recommend? I need it to be able to carry 6 litres of water, ammo, first aid, knives, food etc, and be able to be used as a shooting rest and carry a 20" shot gun (Stroeger Outback Defence) for pigs in scrub country. The scrub we have up here is not woods country, it's very dense and you don't see the pigs until any further than 15 feet from you and they are usually running flat out. Once you get through the scrub it opens up to normal rifle country again, sometimes long range. I would love a Mystery Ranch or a Kifaru but at about $1000 I don't think so. I do like the Eberlestock Fac Pack. All it needs is a scabbard done each side and hydration packs and it seems it may be able to do the job. I don't like the ones with a built in scabbard because the rifle butt is too close to your head. I wear an Akubra (board brim hat) and the rifle butt would constantly knock it off. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Mark |

Nathan FosterRe: Day Pack for StalkingStill looking for the ultimate myself Mark. Wish I could help.Have you looked at the Badlands range, a lot of guys like these. Also, Cabelas sometimes have basic offerings which are often highly regarded by customers. Worth a look anyway. |
