Todd FreeThese can be purchased for $25 to $200 online.Or you can make your own for about $10. You will need: 1 x simple plastic case for your phone (the expensive part: $10) 1 x 4-5" length of plastic tube of the diameter to fit your scope 1 x end cap for the above tube some kind of adhesive foam to line the inside of tube of a thickness for your scope - find centre of end cap and drill a hole through it the size of the lens on the phone -put phone in case and lay flat with lens pointing up -place end cap over lens centred in hole, trace outline of end cap onto the case with a texter -apply adhesive to case in the area you just traced, then place end cap onto case centred over the lens again. let adhesive set. -line tube with foam -done The foam lining helps centre the tube over the scope without having to use a mechanical method to hold in place and reduces any chance of marking up the scope and is instantly adjustable. You will have to play with camera settings. I use an iphone and have to zoom in about 25% to get the view to fill the frame. You can adjust how far the scope goes into the tube to work best with your camera. think of it as eye relief for the camera. that's all i know |

Todd FreeRe: Cheap Smart Phone Camera Mount for ScopeI have either misplaced it or threw it out during a move last year, as I cannot locate it!If I do find it, I will post a pic. The only drawback of my design was the foam liner to centre on the scope. It was not as firm as the screw types and would move easily, which meant realigning it a bit. |

mark whiteleyRe: Cheap Smart Phone Camera Mount for Scopevery interesting Todda bit different but I have been looking at this type of thing to try work out how to make a nitesite type of night vision camera setup, what I have seen is to use rubber tube for the attachment of the camera and scope this type of camera or similar add an external battery, a powerful IR light and hopefully is cheap but effective thanks for posting regards Mark |
