G'day Nathan and all, Just read your latest,particularly the bit on the above caliber. I'm "building" a medium/large game rifle in this one;planning on using Woodleigh 320 gr PPs, out of a custom Ruger # 1. Your info is perfect for what I've planned. The alternative would again be Woodleigh Hydrrostatic solid 286s.
I'll try for 2400- 2450 fps; the #1s are strong enough, brass is the deciding factor. The stock could be somewhat "straighter"....
One wildcat I considered is the 338 Norma Mag necked up to 9.3; recoil would be "interesting" to say the least.... theX64 will do.

My brother has a 9.3mm rifle based upon the .308 cartridge. Ballistics are similar to the .358 Winchester but firing heavier bullets. Last year he toppled a spike horn bull elk with it at approx 225 yards. One shot did the job.
