Lane SalvatoI've guided a lot in Texas for several exotic species. I've also hunted a lot. Most people get too carried away about all of the details surrounding SD, BC, etc. and although these things are important I've found the biggest problem that most guys have is that they don't ever actually practice shooting. Ergo, they can't shoot. With not much practice a guy who can't shoot much can begin getting some good skill. It's so much fun just got go shoot. It's a joy to see fellows move from no confidence to better confidence. I love it. |

Kenneth KephartRe: Nice Fellow, but the Poor Bugger Can't ShootWell first step is to convince them that you don't NEED a 338 Win Mag to shoot Raccoons... |

Lane SalvatoRe: Nice Fellow, but the Poor Bugger Can't ShootYep, that's a true statement. Also, you don't need a $ 6,000 rig to shoot most anything. I love having a nice rifle or two but the important thing is to go shoot a lot. I've taken many prickly pear cacti, and many beer cans in my day. Everything helps. |

Martin TaylorRe: Nice Fellow, but the Poor Bugger Can't ShootSpot on Lane!I'm instructing/setting up a novice friend of mine in shooting technique, bush craft & deer hunting. I always say have FUN and practice/stick with the fundamentals, stay clear of hype and BS. Did the same with my eldest son, he's used this confidence and moved onto LR field shooting without fuss running our 308 sub moa out to max effective ranges. Most of which Nathan has helped me nut out over the years with many conversations, emails & re-reading the books at times. |
