Jack DunrossIf all goes to plan, I'll be coming over to NZ in March 2025 for a hunting trip. Does anyone have any recommendations for guided hunting trips that won't cost an arm and a leg?The ones that pop up in google search are exorbitantly expensive, but also seemed aimed at people who want a bit of luxury too. I'm not interested in that. I would rather rough it and I have all my own hunting/camping and hiking gear and my own rifle and I want to cook for myself. I'd probably be aiming for 3 days I reckon and would love to do an alpine hunt, for chamois or tahr, but if be happy with red deer or goats or pigs. The rifle I have a is a Remington 700 in 7mm SAW, so I'm pretty keen to try and stretch it out with some ridge to ridge shooting. This will probably be my last chance (at least for a while) to take this rifle on hunting trip with the new laws coming into Western Australia. I have other shorter range rifles that I will be able to keep for hunting in the future, like my 45-70, so I'd probably like to keep the dense bush hunting for a later date. Cheers! |
