Howdy folks,

It appears there is a dearth of information on hunting with 300 BLK here. I wanted to share my experiences as well as learn from others.

One of the places I hunt is in a wooded area with shots limited to <100 yards max. I have taken deer in other locations at much greater distances and been a hunter for many years. I have a Ruger AR pistol platform chambered for 300BLK.

I used Hornady American Gunner #80897
300 Blackout
125 gr HP

I have successfully harvested a coyote and two deer. The first deer I shot about 60 yds, through the lungs. It ran less than 10 yds and dropped. The second deer I shot a high shoulder shot about 125yds. It dropped right about where I shot it.

I was very pleased and impressed with the round and results.

Has anyone harvested deer with subsonics?
If so, I am curious to know about shot placement, wound channel, and success versus failure.
