Ricardo LaborinDear TBR Forums,Over the year (s) now, I've come to trust this community with fast and accurate advice regarding all things hunting. Three of us Mexican hunters want to go for Thar/Chamois/Red Deer/Boar in the South Island in 2017. The most important thing for us is to have the real NZ experience, and not the lodge/wine/lobster dinner/ridiculous money treatment: - Free Range a must - Backpacking doable (as described in the last book of the NF series) - Rustic cabin/cottage/drop camps preferred - Fit hunters and proficient with the rifle to 350-400yds We're looking for someone serious, professional and very knowledgeable to guide/outfit us in the mountains. Please let me know if any of you know somebody and we can talk about it further: [email protected] Saludos from Mexico!! Ricardo. |

Warwick MarflittRe: April/May 2017 - Three Hunters from Mexico to South IslandHey Ricardo, I know a bloke Josh in the south island. He might be able to get you into all sorts of furry, horned and sharp tusked kinda trouble. I called him and he said to email him. Here's a link to his website. Have a good look at the antics he gets up to? It might not be what you want. But if his videos are the kind of adventure that you want to enjoy give him a shout. Mike DavisRe: April/May 2017 - Three Hunters from Mexico to South IslandRicardo, if its getting close to time and you havet got it sorted give me a yell, a very good mate of mine is retired and fitter than a buck rat, loves getting among the bull thar and being an ex NZFS culler sure knows his stuff. a fly in trip is always on the cards if you guys foot the chopper bill, and backpack walk in not too hard to do. also if you get to end of trip and want to use up your extra rounds/blow off some steam/just go shoot something different. well I can put you into public land spot to shoot some of our big wallabies 15-40kgs the ranges are from at your feet out to as far as you want to go.......not a bad way to spend the day.keep in touch closer to the time Mike. |

Warwick MarflittRe: April/May 2017 - Three Hunters from Mexico to South IslandNo worries Ricardo. I would start getting permits from the NEW ZEALAND Police. Here's a link to the information. The NZ Police should be fine to deal with. It says it's $25 for the visitors permit. You're all going to have a great time Ricardo.http://www.police.govt.nz/advice/firearms/visitors-firearms-licence-and-import-permits?nondesktop Please check-out the procedure to get your rifle BACK home at your end Mexico and then check again as it's heart breaking news when some official decides that you can't get them back home. Plan well in advance and you'll be fine. Mike your mate being Ex New Zealand Forest Service culler would be awesome to hunt with. Cheers |
